The Leadership Transition Program helped me gain knowledge about the people in my organization and the way they did business in a quicker manner than if I would have had to do so organically over time. As part of a merged entity, I was joining a new side of the business and the way things were done was different from where I had come from.
Through the Dialogue™ application my new direct reports anonymously responded to questions, gave input to challenges not being addressed and insight to where I should focus my energy. It would have been difficult to get this information without this process as early as I did before I’d had a chance to get better acquainted with my team. The Transition program helped me hit the ground running faster than if I'd had to do this through osmosis.
I've been in positions in the past where leaders did not fully understand their organization and how to best help their team be successful. Having read the feedback from my direct reports, I was able to ask better questions where I needed to understand more, determine which issues were "across the board" vs. pocket issues and to concentrate my efforts to where I could best add value to the organization.
I would use this program again and recommend it to others.
