William is an educator, an entrepreneur and a seasoned executive
coach. He has been a founding partner in three entrepreneurial
ventures, each related to providing career development and transition
services to individuals and major corporations in a wide range
of industries. In this context, he has been involved in major change
management initiatives in the steel, energy and auto industries.
He co-authored a series of eight books published by Prentice-Hall
on the career transition process.
William is experienced in the coaching of senior executives using
competency frameworks and 360 degree feedback as an integral part
of the coaching process. He has been coaching senior executives
since 1975.
He has developed a coaching skills training program for managers,
now being used by a major corporation.
In his coaching work, William emphasizes the importance of developing
strengths rather than a focus on weaknesses. He is a skilled and
intuitive listener with a great deal of business experience. He
seeks to make the coaching experience one where executives find
a place to confide, reflect and bring wisdom to their daily work
life.
William also provides a Leadership Transition Program to support
managers in assuming new positions that combines coaching, interviewing
and team development to insure successful integration of the new
manager into an organizational unit. The Leadership Transition
Program is supported by a Web-based tool that enables it to be
effectively used with virtual teams that are globally distributed.
The Web-based tool generates valuable organizational intelligence
that can be integrated into a coaching program. The combination
of a 360 degree view of the organization developed by the Website
and 360 degree feedback provides an exceptional foundation for
a powerful coaching experience. See www.leadershiptransitions.net
During the last decade, William has produced innovations related
to the application of web-based services and technology to the
career development and transition process. He helped design a comprehensive
talent management system that supports career profiling, development
planning, performance management, 360 degree feedback and skills
gap analysis.
William is a certified administrator for the Meyers Briggs
Type Indicator and the Strategic Leadership Development
360 assessment instruments. William's undergraduate degree
is from the University of Dayton. He has a Masters Degree and
Ph.D. from the Ohio State University.
